With Don Whitley Scientific now firmly settled in its new home, Victoria Works, Bingley, visitors are now invited to a new showroom. This fabulous area boasts a permanent display of a wide range of Whitley products. Recently, a visitor from an increasingly relevant research topic in microbiology was the first visitor to the new premises.
Over the years, DWS invited many visitors to the old premises in nearby Shipley, from where the business ran successfully for over 30 years. However there were limitations on what products could be demonstrated due to the size of the old showroom. At Victoria Works the showroom is the ideal place for customers to come and really experience our range of workstations. You can try out some of the different porthole systems to see which would be the most suitable for your laboratory or look at the different options for size of airlock. We can sit down with you and discuss your application, your projects, what equipment you might want to use inside the chamber, the challenges you face, and what you need to achieve from the purchase of a Whitley Workstation.
Having a laboratory at Bingley provides additional benefits in that we have both microbiology and tissue culture experts on hand to give expert advice if and when required. We also have people who design and manufacture our workstations so if there is a slight modification or additional technical information required, we can get our R&D staff involved to discuss the possibilities.
The larger showroom now provides the option for bespoke areas to be created that reflect how different products may be used together in a lab environment. For example, sample preparation equipment (Smasher and Dilumat), spiral platers (Whitley WASP Touch) and colony counters (Protocol3). The size of the showroom also provides the option to display previous incarnations of DWS products, showcasing the evolution of products made possible through the work of our research and development team. For example you can see the evolution of Whitley Spiral Platers, with spiral plating being a process DWS helped establish and introduce to the world of microbiology.
Another way to view products is also provided by our 65″ screen. This offers the facility to showcase products, options and features with accompanying information and videos.
If you are considering a Don Whitley Scientific product for your work, please don’t hesitate to get in touch to arrange a visit. We can tailor-make the visit based on your interests and ensure you are provided with understanding, knowledge and experience of DWS products. We can also give you a tour of the premises where you can see how all the different departments combine to create the products in the Don Whitley Scientific range.
